Summer fields

I have always loved the color contrasts of the wheat fields against the cerulean sky in June.

This is the final painting in the “Fields of Colors” series.IMG_2710

Let’s start with flowers

I was walking down to my allotment the other day and my senses were literally flooded by the explosion of Spring. I was particularly drawn to the apple blossoms and the butterfly bush scents. They were so strong to smell quite a few feet away and wonderfully sweet although remarkably different.

It has been a long, dark winter and the light of my inspiration seemed to have been put out by the heavy rains and the gloomy days.

This Spring stroll it has woken it up suddenly. I have decided to take a different approach this year:free will painting.

I plan only the basic color and intended shapes then allow the painting to evolve following the flow of the water and pigment. It has revealed to be a very enjoyable excercise.
